RUAG Defence division is acquiring the British Cyber Security specialist 'Clearswift' for expansion and long-term development of its cyber security business.
Clearswift's products will be a significant addition to the RUAG Defence Cyber Security business unit. As previously announced, the business unit will be headed by cyber security expert Dietmar Thelen as of 1 January 2017, the company announced Tuesday.
“We are aiming to become a principal solution and service provider for organisations of all sizes and across all verticals, including local and national government organisations, financial institutions and critical infrastructure providers.” said Dr. Markus A. Zoller, CEO of the RUAG Defence division.
Clearswift’s global partner network and customer base in conjunction with its analyst-recognised solutions will play a key role in the growth of the RUAG Defence cyber security business unit.” he added.
Clearswift specializes in information security, offering companies adaptive cyber security solutions for the effective protection of business-critical information against internal and external threats. It enables its clients to have secure continuous collaboration across email, web and the endpoint through its Adaptive Data Loss Prevention product suite.
The RUAG Defence division had already announced in September 2016 that it was speeding up the expansion of its Cyber Security business unit and investing multiple millions of Swiss francs over the next few years.
RUAG Australia has won 10 of the initial 11 component categories available to partner countries for F-35 Joint Strike Fighter regional sustainment. Starting in 2025, the company will have lead responsibility within the Pacific Region for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of Joint Strike Fighter components in four Repair Technology Groups - Valves (RTG F), Auxiliary Power Systems (RTG G), Landing Gear Components (RTG L) and Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pneudraulics & Hydro-Mechanical (RTG H) – all of which are consistent with RUAG Australias core capabilities, the company announced Monday
RUAG Aerostructures and TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd has entered into partnership for manufacturing and supply of aero structural components and sub-assemblies. Under the $150 million contract, TAL will manufacture and supply over 550 sheet metal components, machined parts and sub-assemblies to RUAG, for Airbus A320 programme
RUAG has acquired Patrias Space unit to become part of RUAGs Space division, which includes the business operations and assets. Patrias Space activities are currently part of the Finnish companys Systems Business Unit
