Eurofighter consortium has pitched its Typhoon fighter jet for Polish air force's future combat aircraft requirement at MSPO show in Kielce from 5-8 September.
"Eurofighter Typhoon augments existing capabilities and further complements a powerful deterrence against any potential threat to Poland’s borders. The Typhoon with the [Lockheed Martin] F-16 Block 52+ will be a perfect combination," said head of marketing Raffael Klaschka.
The Typhoon is in service in Austria, Germany, Italy, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Spain and the UK and on order for Kuwait. It has been active in supporting recent NATO air policing operations over the Baltic states and Black Sea region.
A selection by Warsaw "would bring new and additional opportunities to Poland from both from a military and economic perspective. Raffael Klaschka added.
“From assembly and manufacturing to support and maintenance. All options are on the table.” Klaschka said.
"Poland can integrate and certificate weapons, pods and other equipment," he added.
“we believe we can deliver an attractive and cost-effective solution for Poland and are able to co-operate with every company." He noted.
Eurofighter Typhoons Belonging to the US-led Anti-Daesh coalition flew 1000 sorties, dropping 850 Paveway 4 bombs in Iraq and Syria since 2015 as part of operation SHADER. SHADER is the operational code name given to the contribution of the United Kingdom in the ongoing military intervention against IS militants
The Eurofighter Typhoon will form the 'spear point' of the UKs future combat air defence capability alongside the F-35 Lightning, Harriett Baldwin, the UK Minister for Defence Procurement has said. “We see Typhoon as very much strengthening UK defence and the first quality I would highlight is its reliability; it has an engine that goes over 1,000 flying hours without needing unscheduled maintenance,” Harriett Baldwin MP, the UK Minister for Defence Procurement, was quoted as saying by BAE Systems Thursday
The first live firing of MBDAs Brimstone air-to-surface missile from a Eurofighter Typhoon has been successfully completed as part of ongoing development work to significantly upgrade the capability of the aircraft. The trial is part of work to integrate the Phase 3 Enhancement (P3E) package for Typhoon, which will also deliver further sensor and mission system upgrades
First batch of the BAE Systems Typhoon fighters were received by the Air Force of Oman (RAFO) Wednesday. They were delivered under the auspices of Major General Matar bin Ali Al Obaidani Commander of RAFO, at the Adam Air Base
Airbus Defence and Space has delivered the first two Eurofighter Typhoons to be produced in the latest configuration with enhanced air-to-surface capabilities to the Spanish Air Force. The aircraft were manufactured at the Getafe Final Assembly Line in the P1Eb FW (Phase 1 Enhanced Further Work) configuration which marks a key step in the overall Eurofighter evolution plan
