Beechcraft has won a contract from Mexico to supply two T-6C Texan trainers for the nation’s navy.
The aircraft, designated T-6C+ models, will be delivered "this summer", Beechcraft says.
Beechcraft, a division of Textron, says it is also working on a contract to provide two years of parts support, pilot and mechanic training and field support to the Mexican navy.
The aircraft will have glass cockpits with Esterline CMC Cockpit 4000 avionics, which include flight management systems and a global positioning system certificated by the US Federal Aviation Administration, says Beechcraft.
The Mexican air force already has six T-6s, and has placed an order for an additional six aircraft, according to Flightglobal’s MiliCAS database.
Russias Rostec State Corporation and Mexicos Craft Avia Center will partner to set up a helicopter distribution and maintenance center in Mexico. An agreement to this effect was reached by head of the Mexican company Jose de Vicente and Russian Helicopters CEO Andrei Boginsky

Beechcraft announced the delivery of the first of four Beechcraft King Air 350ER aircraft ordered by the Mexican Navy Secretaría de Marina (SEMAR) at Farnborough Airshow. In addition to the aircraft, Beechcraft will support SEMAR with on-the-ground service, support and training through its Global Mission Support organization
