Turbomeca will showcase its Ardiden 3C and Arrius 2 turboshaft engines at Zhuhai Airshow 2014, from 11th to 16th November 2014, the company said in a statement Monday.
Developed in 50-50 partnership with Avic Engine, Ardiden 3C was ground tested for the first time in Bordes (France) in November 2013. Named WZ16 in China, the 1,700 shaft horsepower class Ardiden 3C belongs to the Ardiden 3 engine family, dedicated to the 6 to 8 ton helicopter segment. Ardiden 3C/WZ16 has been selected to power Avicopter AC352, jointly developed with Airbus Helicopters.
The Ardiden 3C/WZ16 program is the result of a strong and long lasting cooperation between Turbomeca and Avic. Through this partnership, operators and aircraft manufacturers will benefit from the know-how and experience of two key players in the field of aircraft propulsion.
Arrius 2 is one of Turbomeca’s best-selling engine families with over 3000 units delivered worldwide, logging around 6.6 Million flight hours. This 450 to 750 shaft horsepower engine family exhibits a robust design, with two main modules, and a new generation dual-channel FADEC system (Full Authority Digital Engine Control). Arrius 2 is one of the best engines in its class for single and twin engine helicopters. Recently, it has been selected by Bell Helicopter to power the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X.
In September 2013, Turbomeca also strengthened its proximity support in China, by opening a new technical support center in Tianjin, dedicated to the Arrius, Arriel and Makila engines operated in the area.
Rosoboronexport will showcase over 200 samples of aviation products for military use at the Zhuhai Airshow from November 11 to 16 2014. Rosoboronexport is eyeing customers for its multi-role high-agility Sukhoi Su-35 fighter, the Yakovlev Yak-130 training (and combat training) jet, the Mikoyan MiG-29-M2 multi-role frontline fighter, the Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A heavy-lift military transport plane and an aerial refueling tanker plane based on the Ilyushin Il-76MD-90 during the show
China will display the JY-26 phased array radar designed to detect and track stealth aircraft at the upcoming Zhuhai Airshow 2014, Global Times reported today. The JY-26 features small cylindrical columns and will be primarily used for remote air surveillance missions
The China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) will showcase the FK3 surface-to-air missile defense system at the Zhuhai airshow in China this week. The missile defense system can intercept threats from cruise missiles, airplanes, helicopters, and large UAVs, according to local media reports
Bell Helicopter announced today it will showcase the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X and the Bell 525 Relentless for the first time in China at Airshow China in Zhuhai from November 11 – 14. In addition, the Bell 407GX will be available for demonstration flights
