Si2 Microsystems, a Bengaluru based System-in-Package (SiP) Company is involved in reverse engineering products and processes. Si2 is at Aero India 2015 as an exhibitor.

“Why are we so unlike the Chinese, who with alacrity reverse engineer products and processes and then copy it to feed their military systems,” is a common refrain from companies involved in component design and research.

Si2 clearly writes in its company profile that it “re-engineers sub-systems,” while providing wireless, wire-line and micro-systems solutions for global customers.

A press release of the company says, “SI2 is engaged in manufacture of PCB (printed circuit board) assemblies, sub-systems and complete systems on a turnkey basis since 1996.”

They also design and manufacture of custom-made system-in-package solutions besides design and manufacture of micro-electronic devices for custom applications.

Si2 interfaces with the “Indian defense forces for indigenization of critical systems as well as upgradation of obsolete imported systems including radar systems, EW (Electronic Warfare) suites, air defense systems etc.”

Si2’s main production plants are in two factories in Bengaluru, and in San Jose, California. “A state-of-the-art design centre in Bangalore hosts more than 20 design engineers proficient in VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration), embedded and systems design.”

Si2 caters to various industry verticals including space & aerospace, defense & military, consumer electronics, automotive, medical electronics, educational institutions and global customers.
