Northrop Grumman announced Tuesday that it has opened new cyber facility in Gloucestershire that delivers innovative advanced cyber solutions to customers in the UK and other locations in Europe.

The focus will be on developing capabilities in big data and smart data analytics, network defence, secure mobility, biometrics, high speed processing and full spectrum cyber. Part of the facility will include the company's Advanced Cyber Technology Centre, a global collaboration initiative announced in November 2014 to advance high-end cyber solutions.

Critical to addressing the cyber threat is building a trained workforce.  Northrop Grumman is investing in the development of tomorrow's cyber professionals and has partnered with Cyber Security Challenge UK to launch the youth-based cyber defence competition CyberCenturion in the UK. CyberCenturion is aimed at building the next generation cyber workforce, will host its first UK national finals competition, Friday, April 17 at the National Museum of Computing, Bletchley Park.
