Two Squadrons Of F-15J Fighter Jets To Form New Japanese Air Wing

The Japanese Air Self-Defense Force will form a new air wing at Naha airport in Okinawa.

Two squadrons of F-15J fighter jets will be redeployed from Tsuiki Airbase to Naha for the new wing. A Total of 40 F-15Js will be deployed in Okinawa. Defense Minister Nakatani was quoted as saying by Sankei news daily Tuesday.

The order takes effect on Jan 31. The new air wing will be the ninth one and first one in the last 50 years.
