Raytheon Wins $76 Million To Support Sea Sparrow Missile Production

Raytheon has won a $76 million contract for the procurement of long lead material in support of the multi-year Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles (ESSM) Block I production requirements contract.

The ESSM program is an international cooperative effort to design, develop, test, and procure ESSM missiles.  The ESSM provides enhanced ship defense, the US department of defense said in a statement Wednesay.

This contract combines purchases for the Navy and the governments of Australia, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, and Norway as part of the NATO Sea Sparrow Consortium.

Work is expected to be completed by May 2018.
