Raytheon To Supply Radar Systems to Qatar

Raytheon has won a $1billion contract to provide early warning radar system to Qatar.

The company will provide an early warning radar system that will be integrated into the Qatar integrated air and missile defense enterprise, the company announced today.

Work is expected to be complete by June 30, 2021.

Early warning radar system is utilized to safeguard a nation against hostile missile launches. Raytheon’s upgraded early warning radar system (UEWR) provides prompt detection and accurate tracking of ballistic missiles as well as quick and exact determination of threat versus non-threat objects.

Notably, Raytheon’s UEWR serves as a key sensor for the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System.
