The United States department of defense awarded multiple companies contracts worth $561 million collectively to support research and development for the procurement of materials and services used to develop, build, fabricate and support the Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Family of Systems (FoS).
Aerojet Rocketdyne, Alion Science and Technology, AMERICAN Systems, BAE Systems Electronic Systems, The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory Inc., DRS Power Technology, General Atomics, General Dynamics One Source, Hamilton Sundstrand (UTC Aerospace), Huntington-Ingalls (AMSEC), Hydroid Inc., L-3 Technologies, Lockheed Martin, MOOG, Northrop Grumman, Oceaneering, Raytheon Co., Rite Solutions, Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), Systems Engineering Associates Corp.* (SEA CORP), Southwest Research Institute, Teledyne Brown Engineering, and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, are the companies that are being awarded, the US department of defense said in a statement Monday .
This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of these contracts to $794 million.
Each task order will be competed amongst the contract holders, and locations will be dependent upon each awarded task order. Work is expected to be completed by July 2023. These contracts were competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with 28 offers received.
