Russia’s MC-21 aircraft successfully underwent the second certification tests by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
During the certification tests, EASA experts evaluated the behavior of MC-21-300 aircraft in various modes at altitudes till 12,000 m. The flights were performed with a large and low take-off weight, in the conditions of front and rear centering. The operation of the integrated aircraft control system in the normal mode has been verified. Testers rated the aircraft's behavior at minimum handling speeds* of take-off and landing, including with an imitation of engine failure.
Yuri Slyusar, President of UAC said: “The MC-21-300 is undergoing flight tests in order to obtain Russian and European type certificates. The completion of the second session of certification flights by EASA testers is another step in this direction. In parallel, at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant we are expanding the production of MC-21-300 aircraft intended for initial customer’s delivery”.
The first session of the certification flights of EASA experts took place in January 2019. In September 2018, EASA test crew completed a special course in theoretical and practical training, as a result of which they obtained permission to fly on MC-21-300 aircraft.
Irkut Corp has displayed a new advanced simulator of the MC-21-300 aircraft at the Paris Air show 2019. The procedural simulator of MC-21-300 has been upgraded after the successful flight tests
The third iteration of the Irkut MC-21-300 aircraft has completed its maiden flight, at the airfield of Irkutsk Aviation Plant, the affiliate of Irkut Corporation (a UAC member). The duration of flight was 1 hour 30 minutes at an altitude of 3500 meters at a speed of up to 450 kmph, the company said in a statement Saturday
Technodinamika has completed the fire protection and oxygen system units qualification test in December 2018 for civil aviation aircraft SSJ-100 and MC-21. “The fire protection system units will be sent to Sukhoi Civil Aircraft for additional certification tests in the SSJ-100 aircraft during the spring of 2019, under the import substitution program
Mass production of the Russian MC-21 Airliner will commence sometime in 2019 as the various enterprises of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) have begun to manufacture parts and units of MC-21-300 aircraft intended for delivery to customer who have placed orders to buy the aircraft. “In 2018 flight and ground certification tests of aircraft prototype confirmed the main design solutions
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have conducted preliminary examination flights of Russian airliner MC-21-300 and will soon conduct certification tests. The EASA test pilots have performed the following procedures on the simulators and test benches: take-off, approach and landing using both landing systems and visual approaches; handling qualities and controllability characteristics of MC-21-300 aircraft in various control modes within the entire range of admissible operating altitudes, speeds, weights and centres of gravity; actions in case of emergency; and approaching high angles of attack, when the stall warning activates
Russia is ready to return to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty provided the US follows the statuettes of the treaty, but Romania is now home to Washingtons Missile system, Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Russian State Dumas International Affairs Committee said Tuesday. “The missile systems placed in Romania by the US can be easily modified to launch surface-to-surface missiles of intermediate and smaller range," Slutsky told TASS
