While major international aerospace and defence events including Farnborough, Berlin and Qatar have cancelled their 2020 editions due to the Coronavirus crisis, the prestigious Eurosatory 2020 in Paris has asserted that the show would go on.
The organizers - Coges – have announced that a decision on the show’s cancellation or continuance would be taken by the end of April-the show is scheduled to run from June 8-12 at the Parc des Expositions in Paris-Nord Villepinte.
However with the increase in Coronavisus (COVID-19) cases in France and the rest of Europe, where many cities and regions are under lockdown, the holding of the event on the scheduled dates now looks doubtful. The latest figures from the French public health department show 22,302 confirmed cases in France with the figure doubling in a week.
Eurosatory is the largest ground and air-land defense and security show in the world with companies across continents vying to display their latest products and technology there. Postponement is an option like some other events- DSA Malaysia which has a similar exhibits profile, has postponed its April 2020 event to September this year.
The 2020 Eurosatory has over 1800 exhibitors registered, the largest of any aerospace and defence event this year.
