The U.S Navy has awarded ATK a $71 million contract for the full-rate production of Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles (AARGM). The company will provide operational missiles and training for the Navy, related supplies, services necessary for manufacturing sparing and fleet deployment. Bill Kasting, Vice President and General Manager of ATK's Defense Electronic Systems division, said, "Achieving full-rate production underscores the tremendous performance of our government/industry team. We remain committed to delivering AARGM's game-changing capabilities to the Fleet and to making it available for use on other U.S. and allied platform”. AARGM is a supersonic, air launched tactical missile system with advanced multi-sensor system that includes a millimeter wave terminal seeker, advanced anti-radiation homing receiver and a Global Positioning System/inertial navigation system. This will enable AARGM to engage traditional and advanced land and sea based air-defense threats and non-radar time-sensitive strike targets.
