Thales will exhibit at Defexpo 2014, from 6 to 9 February in New Delhi, India, showcasing a wide range of products under Advanced air defence systems, C4I solutions, Land and Naval communications, Optronics, Underwater and electronic warfare systems.
Thales’s Advanced Air Defence offering has SAMP/T theatre anti-missile system, the RAPID range of weapon systems, missiles and some other air defence systems.
The company C4ISR solutions stand will have the NORMANS dismounted close combat system.
Thales offers interoperable systems and a complete range of tactical radios for all levels of command, from C2 centres to infantry in the field and for land, air and naval platforms, to meet the requirements for air-to-air, ground-to-air and surface-to-air communications. A wide range of communications for Land and Naval Forces will also be exhibited.
At Defexpo, the company will also showcase thermal imagers, surveillance systems, goggles and cameras and the underwater warfare solutions. Among others, Thales’s technologies in the combat aircraft, surveillance radars, rockets and surface attack systems domains will also be presented on the stand.
Thales has won a strategic study contract to define the overall system architecture for future network-centric operations by the French armed forces. The study known as ETO AGORA, will build operational scenarios using the various networks to be deployed by 2020–25 to define an interconnection model that ensures effective delivery of future operational services, taking into account the progressive migration of these networks to IP technology
Thales announced today that will join SAF Group at a shared training centre, which features two state-of-the-art Reality H Simulators, in Albertville in the French Alps. SAF, who have operated a Reality H in Albertville since 2012, providing training and simulation for the EC135, will be joined by Thales, who will operate a further brand new Reality H to be ready for training by mid- 2014
Thales has won a 100 million euros contract to supply Forceshield integrated air defense system and STARSTREAK missiles to the Indonesian Ministry of Defense. In addition to the supply of STARStreak short-range air defence missiles, the system comprises CONTROLMaster200 radar and weapon coordination systems, RAPIDRanger mobile weapon systems and Lightweight Multiple Launchers (LML), as well as associated communications, training and support equipment
Thales has won a contract from the French defence procurement agency (DGA) to develop the New Generation Laser Designation Pod (PDL NG), with the production is expected to begin in 2018. Thales will develop the PDL NG that will provide the French air forces with new day/night imaging and engagement capabilities in complex theatres of operations
Thales has signed a contract with Astrium, prime contractor for the Ariane 5 ME (Midlife Evolution) launcher, for the development of the control electronics on the upper-stage Vinci engine steering system. Scheduled to make its first flight in mid-2018, Ariane 5 ME is a higher performance version of Europe's Ariane 5 launch vehicle
The Swiss Air Forces EC635 helicopter Full Flight Mission Simulator (FFMS) has achieved JAR FSTD-H Level D certification issued by Switzerlands Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) - the highest possible level of FSTD certification. Thales has won a contract to supply six SMART-S Mk2 naval surveillance radar systems and six CAPTAS-2 towed sonar systems for the Royal Malaysian Navys Second Generation Patrol Vessel (SGPV) Littoral Combat Ships (LCS). The six SMART-S Mk2 radars will be installed on the Malaysian Littoral Combat Ships that are currently being built by Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd in Malaysia
Thales has won a contract from DCNS to supply its latest-generation IFF identification systems for the French Navy's Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier and the two French Horizon-class frigates. The installation of these new systems, part of Thales's BlueGate product family, will overcome the limitations of the systems currently in service and provide the vessels with an effective Mode 5 / Mode S capability
