MBDA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Queensland based Ferra Engineering to support Australian Industry content proposal to contribute to $20 billion Land 400 program .
MBDA Australia Managing Director, Andy Watson said. “Our product for Land 400, MMP, is the only fifth generation anti-tank guided weapon (ATGW) in production”
“MMP is the most advanced and lowest risk missile solution for Land 400 Phase 2 and we are delighted to partner with Ferra Engineering to help bring MMP’s technological and strategic benefits to Australia,” he said.
“MBDA’s approach to Australian Industrial Content is based on two principles: ensuring the Commonwealth has the highest level of operational independence and sovereignty in its use of the missile and generating real opportunities for Australian industry”.
Ferra Engineering Managing Director, Mark Arthur, said that “this is an exciting opportunity to develop a long term partnership with MBDA, and we look forward to working with them into the future”.
The MoU with Ferra Engineering is the first of a number of agreements with Australian companies expected to be completed over the coming weeks and builds on MBDA’s established record for industrial participation and technology transfer in Australia.
MBDA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Romanian defence group Romarm and its subsidiary Electromecanica Ploiesti that permits them to define and present the best French proposal for tactical missile systems. The MoU was signed in response to the operational requirements of the Romanian Armed Forces for land based air defence systems
MBDA has a secured a £323 million contract for the next batch of Common Anti-air Modular Missile (CAMM) for the British Army and Royal Navy. The CAMM is designed for use both at sea and on land
MBDA has introduced its new SmartGlider family of guided weapons, optimised to counter anti-access strategies and other emerging battlespace threats.
