Kalashnikov Group’s Kamikaze Drone Cleared for Export

The Kalashnikov Group’s kamikaze drone KUB-E guided munitions system has received export permit form Russian authorities making it possible to promote this product abroad.

“The Kalashnikov, Group, together with Rosoboronexport, is ready to start promoting the KUB UAV on the international market, including during intergovernmental commissions and international exhibitions. It should be noted that this drone already has a successful experience of combat use, confirmed in real conditions,” the press service of the Kalashnikov Group said.

The KUB-E kamikaze drone was developed by ZALA Aero (part of the Kalashnikov Group).

“Today, there are practically no drones with similar weight and size on the world market. The dimensions of the KUB-E are 1210*950*165 mm, while it can carry a payload of up to 3 kg,” Kalashnikov said in a release.

KUBs can be used to strike at infrastructure facilities, enemy manpower, as well as lightly armored targets. The KUB operates silently and reaches speeds of up to 130 km / h thanks to its electric power plant and can spend up to 30 minutes in flight. It can also be used as part of a swarm.

During the first public display of the at the IDEX-2019 international exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the drone received significant interest from international military delegations visiting the event.

During the forum ARMY-2021, ZALA specialists demonstrated a modification of the KUB-UAV – high-precision loitering ammunition designed for launch and use on water bodies.

The updated version has an increased range of application, as well as the ability to perform missions as part of a guided swarm.

This update allows the use of an unmanned complex as part of a guided swarm. The device can be operated on high-speed boats and special-purpose ships.
