Ukraine Loses MiG-29, Su-27 Jets in War with Russia

The Russian Ministry of Defense shot down two MiG-29 fighters and a Sukhoi Su-27 operated by the Ukrainian armed forces, besides destroying tens of military facilities.

Igor Konashenkov, MoD Spokesman, said on Tuesday that Russian bombers and combat jets destroyed 158 military facilities in a single day. “On March 7, the airfield of the Ukrainian Air Force Ozernoye in the Zhytomyr region was disabled by high-precision long-range weapons. Fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down two MiG-29s and one Su-27 of the Ukrainian Air Force in the air,” Konashenkov said.

Two S-300 missile systems, three Buk M-1 self-propelled launchers, four command posts, two radar stations, nine ammunition depots and 11 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment were put out of action, Igor added.

“In total, 2482 military infrastructure facilities of Ukraine were destroyed during the operation,” Konashenkov said.

Among them are 87 command posts and communication centers of the Ukrainian armed forces, 124 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as 79 radar stations. Destroyed: 866 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 91 multiple rocket launchers, 317 field artillery pieces and mortars, 634 units of special military vehicles, and 81 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Ukraine updates combat losses of the “enemy”

The Ukrainian military said they killed 12,000 Russian troops. From February 24 until today, it reported destroying 303 tanks, 1036 Armored Protected Vehicles (APVs), 120 artillery systems, 56Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS), 27 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 48 aircraft, 80 helicopters, 474 military vehicles, 60 fuel tanks and 7 drones.
