Cobham will exhibit at the the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s (AUVSI) Unmanned Systems 2014 conference and trade show 13-15 May at the Orange Country Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Cobham will demonstrate products and technologies engineered to:
-- Enable “Sense & Avoid” by unmanned autonomous and remotely piloted aerial vehicles
-- Resiliently link control stations and unmanned systems through our antenna solutions
-- Ensure cyber- & communications security and resiliency with our robust and encrypted datalinks
-- Reduce the size, weight and power (SWaP) consumption of mission critical components
-- Protect armed forces, law enforcement & HAZMAT teams through the use of our Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs)
These and other Cobham products are at the heart of systems used to keep people safe, improve their communication and enhance their ability to conduct missions on land and in the air. Cobham subject matter experts will be available daily during the exhibition’s open hours to discuss the contents of our exhibit with accredited members of the media as well as with customers and potential customers, suppliers and possible industrial partners.
BAE Systems has awarded Cobham a 30 month contract to provide air support to operational readiness training for the Royal Saudi Air Force. The contract is part of the Saudi British Defence Cooperation Programme and will run from 2014 to 2016
Cobham will showcase its communication systems and Integrated Surveillance Solutions at Defexpo 2014, 6-9 February at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. United Kingdom has awarded a five year base contract extension worth £165m to Cobham for operational training, with an anticipated value of some £200m through to 2019. This contract extends the 25 years partnerships between the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, with Cobham to provide training to service personnel operating platforms including the Eurofighter Typhoon and Type 45 Destroyer
Cobhams Brazilian subsidiary has secured its first major contract to equip State Police helicopters with High Definition (HD) video surveillance downlinks which will be used on helicopters in 12 cities during the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup. The contract was developed with a local integration partner following the opening of the Cobhams Sao Paulo office in August 2012 and includes both airborne and ground based equipment
Embraer Defense and Security has awarded a contract worth $30 million to develop and supply the auxiliary fuselage fuel tank for the KC-390 tanker aircraft. Cobham's AFFT will enable the aircraft's core mission capabilities, including increased range for search and rescue operations and maximised fuel offload for air-to-air refuelling
Cobham has been awarded a $65 million contract for the supply electronic systems to Boeing’s Wideband Global SATCOM satellite programme. The contract which is expected to be completed in 2013 includes production of three satellite flight sets, with additional options for three more sets
