The Russian Armed Forces' Strategic command, Western Military District has received new Mi-35M combat helicopters, which are capable of performing missions around the clock in adverse weather conditions.
The Mi-35M manufactured by Rostvertol, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters, are armed with managed and unmanaged "air-land" and"air-to-air" missiles, as well as with a mobile double-barreled gun mount 23 mm, according to the press service of Western Military District.
By year-end, the Mi-35M will completely replace the previous generation helicopters, Mi-24s.
Impact-weather helicopter Mi-35M is designed to defeat armored vehicles enemy fire support land forces on the battlefield, landing and evacuation of the wounded. Avionics rotorcraft meets the modern standards of navigational support and also combat use of aircraft weapons. The glass cockpit of the Mi-35M accommodates two pilots.
