China To Equip Its Tanks With Electric Reactive Armor
PLA's Type 99 main battle tank.

The Chinese people’s liberation army will equip its main battle tanks with electric reactive armor to prevent damage caused due to anti-tank weapons.

Electric reactive armor is usually made of two electrical plates separated by an insulator to make a high-power capacitor, Global Times reported today.

If any tank that uses this armor is hit by an incoming object such as a rocket or missile, it will discharge electricity from the capacitor to vaporize the object. The discharge is claimed to so powerful to turn the incoming object into plasma.

It is not clear which models of Chinese tanks would get the reactive armor as it would be an expensive project to undertake.
