A Russian Mi-8 helicopter has been shot down by gunfire from the ground in Syrian Idlib province.

The helicopter with 3 crew members and 2 officers was hit when it was returning to the Hmeymim airbase after the delivery of humanitarian assistance in Aleppo, the Russian defense ministry said in a press service Monday.

The fate of the officers and crew on board is still unknown.
