Iran unveils new ballistic missile during military parade

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) unveiled a new long-range ballistic missile during a military parade in Tehran on Friday.

Named ‘Khorramshahr’, the ballistic missile has a range of 2,000 kilometers with ability to carry multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRV) within a range of 1,800 kilometers, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh told local media during a ceremony marking the onset of the Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

The new missile can be equipped with multiple warheads, not only one, Tasnim news agency reports.

Training courses on the use of Khorramshahr have already begun, the general noted, saying the ballistic missile would soon become operational in the IRGC Aerospace Force.
